Denver is Colorado's capital and largest city. Denver ("The Mile-High City") is at an altitude of 5,280 feet/1,600 meters, where the midwestern plains give way to the Rocky Mountains. These mountains not only serve as a beautiful backdrop but also as the catalyst for much of Denver's resident affection for the outdoors. Whether it be skiing, hiking, mountain biking or whatever, theres a lot to do within a short drive.
