- New York City (Manhattan) Sometimes considered the capital of the world, from it's iconic statue of liberty and empire state building to it's relaxing central park, you haven't seen urban amazement until you've been there.
- Eastern Long Island An escape from the urban landscape just an hour or two away. From the exclusive celebrity hangout of the Hamptons to the incredibly charming town of Montauk at the tip of the point, eastern Long Island is the the hip place to hideaway.
- Niagra Falls Straddling the border of the U.S. and Canada, these waterfalls make up one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
- The Palisades On the western bank of the Hudson river, there are cliffs that rise sharply, Picture. These cliffs are known as the majestic Palisades. They range from 300 to 500 feet. They start in the Northern portion of Jersey City, New Jersey and stretch all the way to Nyack, New York. There are numerous number of look outs, trails and camp sites located along the Palisades. The palisades can be easily reached from Manhattan via the George Washington Bridge. Palisade Interstate Parks start north of the Bridge.
- Finger Lakes Region of Central New York is a collection of fabulous clear-water lakes and the Villages that were settled after the American Revolution. Arriving from the East you will first find Skaneateles Lake and Skaneateles Village, a StoryBook Village on the North shore of the Lake. Bookended by two parks, the Historic shopping district is a step-back in time and charm.

The most popular type of way to getting in New York is by plane and you can find many flights from different airports. The three largest are JFK and LGA for easy access to New York City and Long Island, plus Albany (ALB) which is best for upstate New York.

Weather And Climate
New York has a very seasonal climate, marked by warm summers and freezing cold winters. Temperatures in the winter can go down to as low as 10°F (-12°C) and in the summer, temperatures can go as high as 100°F (38°C). New York can be prone to snowstorms and nor'easters, which can dumping much snow over a relatively short period of time. In the coastal regions there is a slight chance of hurricanes, but they tend to be weak if they do make it this far north.

Getting Around
Depending on where you are at in New York, public transportation ranges from great to non-existant. Within New York City transportation options include the subway, buses, and the popular cabs. Areas close to New York city, such as Long Island, also have fairly good train systems. But once you you reach rural areas upstate your only way to get around will be in your own car.
