Travature Story

I have found out that there ain't no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them. -Mark Twain

Meet The Team

Travature’s executive management is comprised of real travelers; the whole idea for the company came from their travels and constant frustration with the current confines and short comings of the travel industry. Meet our executive management:

Jeremy Almond is President and Chief Technology Officer. Before founding Travature Jeremy was the Chief Information Architect at Veeco Instruments (NASDAQ: VECO). At Veeco he was responsible for the global architecture and development for all technology systems; he also managed all corporate information systems policy and government regulation. Prior to that Jeremy held various technology management and engineering positions with Digital Instruments. Jeremy has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara.

Travatureology: Jeremy was raised by nomadic wolves in the Chihuahua province region of Mexico. After wandering the countryside with his wolf family he began a series of long coastal travels to California. Since then he has spent two years working in New York City, becoming fed up with Corporate America he circumnavigated half of the globe with his wife on a sailboat over a year’s time stopping to enjoy Asia, Oceania, South America, Central America, and Europe. Jeremy is currently located at the Travature’s head office in San Diego where he spends weekends driving to Chihuahua, Mexico in search of the nomadic wolves that raised him.

Chris Hendricks is Executive Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. Along with Jeremy, Chris is one of the founders of Travature. Prior to Travature Chris held various legal positions and has been an independent business consultant. He has a Bachelors of Arts in Law and Society and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology, both from the University of California at Santa Barbara. Chris is soon to finish his Juris Doctor degree at the University of San Diego. He's looking forward to taking the Bar Exam so he can add Corporate Attorney to his already long title.

Travatureology: Chris has spent over a year studying, busing, nursing albino pigmy marmots to health, and driving through the jungles of Central America, and Mexico. He has lived in South America in a yellow short bus (no really we still make fun of him for it) in search of scenery, waves, culture, and the ability to roll his R’s (he found all but one). Chris also spent a summer studying law in East Africa and has done an extensive amount of adventure travel over much of the African continent to get to the International Tetherball championships in Mozambique (he finished 8th). Add in a few trips to Europe, the Caribbean, all over the snow capped mountains of North America, Oceania, and the South Pacific and we begin to round out Chris’ travels.

Flora Ng is the Chief Development Officer. She is responsible for the management of both the software engineering team and the website administration team. Prior to Travature Flora was lead consultant on projects for large scale systems integration and development efforts. Before consulting Flora was performing web development at SKF Reliability Systems. Flora has a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from the University of California San Diego.

Travatureology: Born in Hong Kong, Flora started her travels when she began her University education in California. She has spent considerable time in Japan and other regions of Asia where she started a non-profit organization which specializes in giving underprivileged baby dolphins free swimming lessons. She is a constant traveler around North America and is still on the road working in the U.S. for Travature. She is also known to take to the road and show up wherever Sammi Cheng and Kelly Clarkson are performing their next epic concert.
